ABOUT

A Story Steeped in Sound

Dr. Shuree Enkhbold is an accomplished and versatile pianist hailing from Mongolia. Shuree's musical journey took her to the United States, where she earned her master’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago, a professional Performance Certificate from Lynn Conservatory of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Arizona. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Enkhbold's artistic journey is marked by innovative projects and performances that utilize multimedia formats to create immersive artistic experiences. One example is her performance of Ravel’s fantastical Gaspard de la Nuit on the white sand beaches of south Florida, which can be found on YouTube. During her DMA studies, Dr. Enkhbold also studied entrepreneurship at the highly ranked Eller College of Management. During her time there she led a team to develop a novel music education application utilizing virtual reality.

 

Shuree has deep connections to her Mongolian heritage. Throughout her academic studies, she produced scholarly works focusing on Mongolian classical piano music. Her doctoral dissertation explored the expression of Mongolian identity through traditional folk song arrangements by the composer B. Sharav. She has shared and presented her findings in music festivals, academic conferences, and performances at universities throughout the country including University of Arizona and Cornell University as well at private venues throughout Chicago, Illinois.

 

As a renowned performer, she has played on stages worldwide, ranging from the illustrious Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall to venues in the picturesque landscapes of Mexico. She has been the feature soloist with the Lynn Philharmonic and Mongolian State orchestra and has competed in several international piano competitions including the Byrd Young Artist and Wideman Piano Competitions. Dr. Enkhbold's mesmerizing talent and unwavering dedication leave an indelible impression, solidifying her position as a compelling force within the realm of classical music.
